Are You a Babe?

November 18th, 2007

7th-babe

We’ve only been around a week but everyone wants to know, who is the 7th blogging babe? Well, it could be you! 7 Babes-a-Blogging consists of 6 regular bloggers and one monthly guest blogger – to be chosen by our readers.

Would you like to be a babe? Here’s what you do:

Post a link to one of your favorite blogs posts or articles, or make up a short but fun post and paste it below. One week from today, we’re going to post a list of all of the entrants and our readers will vote on their favorite. The winner will be December’s guest babe of the month.

So what happens if you don’t make the cut?

It only means you get more exposure. Keep trying every month. Just because you’re not December’s guest blogging babe, doesn’t mean you shouldn’t try again. There are some fabulous women around the blogosphere - some we know, many we don’t. We want to feature you all!

Well? What are you waiting for? Send us your stuff!

Im not so sure I am a “babe”. More like a total doofus. This is one of my favorite posts because its one of my many baking mishaps. I think when the plan goes astray, it makes it ever so much more fun to write about.

So I will bravely throw my hat in the ring!

    To the Blogosphere’s Top Babes:

When I first read this posting, I thought: “Geez. Am I really bold enough to throw my heels in the ring?”

    Really.

I mean, it takes some chutzpa to call yourself a babe, even when people can’t track down a picture of you. (Though I’d be happy to share a very embarrassing shot of me from my FIRST driver’s license photo if I am ever chosen as Babe #7. How’s that for tempting?)

Finally, I just decided: “Doggone it, I’ve gotta give it a try.”

    :)

Consequently, here’s my submission from an August posting on my blog… http://recessforwriters.blogspot.com/2007/08/living-each-day-as-if-it-were.html

    (Might I add that I desperately want some of Laurie’s luscious-looking, gotta-get-me-some-of-those, throw-the-diet-to-the-wind cupcakes!)

Thanks for the opportunity! Have fun choosing!

I want to be a blogging babe!! The link below is one of my favorite posts because it’s about my mom ~ my best friend. I still ask myself the same question in that post, what will my children remember about me after I’m gone?

Well, I’m going to do it. This post may not look at first glance to be ‘personal’, but it’s something that means a lot to me. I know many of the type…and there are not enough of them in the world.

Wow, look at all the cool babes already. Thanks goodness we’re letting you all vote or I’d be in for some trouble. Good luck all — off to read your entries now :)

Friends never let friends grow beards - unless those friends are becoming pirates.

This post is one of my favorites because I’m writing about the person I was before I had kids and the person I am now…

Sure, I am still a babe, even at 55. Here is my entry

This is a very cool idea!

One question, though, (and here is where the “McSlacker” part of my name becomes relevant): Is the sample post the one that gets published as the guest post? Or is it an audition post, to be followed by a fresh new guest post that would need writing?

Of course I’m only asking this as a public service to any other lazy bloggers out there who might find the guest post competition quite tempting if it didn’t actually involve writing anything.

  12. Crabby McSlacker on November 21, 2007 10:07 pm

Oops, I just went back and read the instructions which I somehow missed–der!

So one post a week for a month sounds like a great opportunity… (that I’ll probably be too much of a slacker to take advantage of). But still, great idea and good luck to everyone!

  13. Jennifer on November 21, 2007 10:07 pm

Crabby; check out this link. http://7babesablogging.com/wanna-be-a-babe/

If you get voted in you’d be the 7th babe for the month which means you get access to post when you like so yikes (some work). However, the minimum is one post a week and you get the link forever here and the 7th babe hall of fame pic for your own blog. That link above explains it all.

I hope you do apply though because I love your blog. But you knew that.

  14. Jennifer on November 21, 2007 10:09 pm

Ha, we posted at the same time! Funny. Too bad though, think about it for later on :)

  15. Amanda on November 22, 2007 1:04 am

    I think I’m pretty babe-worthy.
    In fact…I know I am.
I’m a complete nerd, with some
    major babe-a-licious ways.

    Smooches!

  16. Amanda on November 22, 2007 1:05 am

    And ohhh. . .
    I guess it would be
    beneficial
    to post my blogggg.
