Advice please?
February 13th, 2008
I am taking opinions.
Last summer I bought our church a spot of it’’s very own on the internet. something like 10 pages and a web address. Then I designed it, set it up, and maintained it..because I am really nice.
They no longer want it for a couple of reasons. SO….What do you think I should do with the 10 pages? I own them for another 6 months.
I have a couple of choices.
- Make a site to sell our house…hopefully a big site would get more interest than a little one and someone who wants to have a bed and breakfast will see it and fall in love….
- Enlarge our farm site for a few months.. We are currently at Pecan Knoll Farm
- Figure out something to sell and put it on it.
- FIgure out something else to do
- leave it as is
Or??? Any great ideas? I could use some money and if there is a way to make a few bucks off it I would love to.

February 3rd, 2008

Homeowners Karen Crawford and Dennis Kelly, along with Realtor Cynthia Moler have teamed up with San Mar to raffle off the Big Pool-area house to benefit The San Mar Children’s Home by selling chances for $100 each. The home is valued at $390,000.
The prizes don’t stop at the house…
Second Prize - 2008 Toyota Camry
Third Prize - A 12’4” x 9’6” Khuzestan Rug
Fourth Prize - Statton Furniture set from Statton Furniture Company
Fifth Prize - $1,000 cold hard cash
Seems like a pretty good deal for anyone who may be battling the recent mortgage slump.
It’s certainly a buyers market and at $100 house like this, think of the possibilities.

January 18th, 2008
Most everyone has heard about b5media - but few know who the folks are the run the day-to-day operations from behind the scenes.
I thought it would be a nice time to point people in that direction since a new face (well sorta) has just joined up.
I’d like to welcome b5media’s newest employee, VP of Social Engineering and Development - Ed.
While you’re there, why not take a stroll through Channel Editors Pass and see who helps hold the channels together.
On November 21, 2005 - I joined b5media as the 21st member of the network to write for CelebAmour. Since that time I’ve taken on Dating Dames and Supernanny Rules too!
What a great adventure this has been! I get excited everytime I even consider the continued growth of the network.

Written by...Babe Gayla -- @ General | Comment (0)5 Random Things
January 12th, 2008
Fab gramma tagged me for a meme. I am so freaky about not breaking rules that I am at the mercy of you people and your memes. I think it is a result of my mispent youth. Does anyone else in their mid forties still sit up straight, drop the speed 10 mph and whisper to themselves “maintain, man, maintain…” when driving past a policeman?
No? Just me?
Here are the rules.
To play, you have to do this:
- Link to the person that tagged you and post the rules on your blog.
- Share 5 random and/or weird facts about yourself on your blog.
- Share the 5 top places on your “want to see or want to see again” list.
- Tag a minimum of 5 random people at the end of your post and include links to their blogs.
- Let each person know that they have been tagged by leaving a comment on their blog.
O.k..Five random/weird facts. If this was supposed to be challenging it would be 5 not-weird facts. Here goes.
1. I have a touch sensitivity disorder and cannot touch styrofoam, popsicle wrappers, and things like that…It makes me gag.
2. I found out that I was adopted when I was 36.
3.I eat butter by the stick (with nothing else) when I am extremely nervous
4. People I don’t know come up to me in public and tell me things about their lives..details, personal stuff..stuff I would rather not know. I don’t know why.
5. I can still do the splits, easily.
Five places I want to see or see again:
1. Marc and I met and were married at Presidio Monterey, Ca. I would like to go back
2. Alaska
3 Iceland
4. Cove Lake Arkansas, we camped there many autumns when our older kids were younger…
5. France. Not the city or anything ..but the french countryside.
Ok..five random people.
1. Julie -Not Enough Coffee
2. Betsy-The Homeschool Way
3. Tiffany at Lattes and Life
4. Vee at Tea and Scones
5. and Gayla, right here at Babes.

January 8th, 2008
Guys, gals and voyeurs… I have totally dropped the ball and I do so apologize.
It isn’t without good intention, because I totally had every intention to get things organized enough to recruit that 7th Babe for January - but it looks like the babe number 7 title is going to have to be reserved for February.
I know, it sux the big one - but it’s been just a tad bit hairy around the old McCord house the last several weeks. Kids sick, puking - broken bones, trying to organize a blue million family Christmas schedules…
When you have two people who are divorced who have parents who are divorced, well, do the math. That puts us a wee bit closer to Brad Pitt than any six apart ever could!
The kids went back to school today so immediately following my happy dance, I began to play my own private game of catch-up and let me just say that I HAVE seen the light. Not to worry… I won’t be walking into any lights in the near future - but it sure is nice to see it for a change.
In the meantime, why don’t YOU make me feel better. You know what they say… misery loves company, so pull up a chair, grab a coffee and tell me a story that will make my problems seem smaller
